Planting Global Gardens Growing Global Peace
Our Mission
Rooted in the principle of planting Global Gardens for food security, the Heidi Kühn Global Peace Foundation advances the White Rose as a global symbol of cultivating peace through the land. The White Rose reflects both the beauty of what the earth can grow and the moral urgency of planting peace through agriculture worldwide.
As conflicts intensify across the globe, we champion regenerative agriculture as a pathway to stability—reminding global citizens that when we nourish the soil, we nourish peace. We partner with reputable NGOs, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and local governments to plant Global Gardens that restore dignity, resilience, and hope.
Our Approach
We implement Global Gardens through a collaborative, community-driven model that brings together civil society, local governments, and farmers on the front lines of food security.
Our work begins by partnering with reputable NGOs and civil society organizations who understand the local landscape and can help mobilize communities with trust and cultural insight. We then work closely with local governments to secure the necessary approvals, ensure long-term land stewardship, and align each garden with regional priorities for food security and resilience.
At the heart of every Global Garden are the local farmers who cultivate them. We collaborate directly with farmers to identify suitable land, introduce regenerative agricultural practices, and build capacity for sustainable production. By centering local leadership and agricultural knowledge, each Global Garden becomes a source of nourishment, economic stability, and community pride.
This integrated approach—civil society partnership, government collaboration, and farmer-led implementation—ensures that Global Gardens take root, thrive, and become lasting symbols of peace and resilience in their communities, feeding future generations and planting peace.
Planting Peace—
One Garden, One Community, One World
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where peace takes root in every community—where land once scarred by conflict is restored to abundance, and Global Gardens provide food security, stability, and hope for future generations.
Through the unifying symbol of the White Rose, we envision a global movement that nourishes the earth, uplifts humanity, and builds lasting peace through regenerative agriculture.
Three Core Initiatives
-

Global Gardens
Our Global Gardens for Food Security program plants seeds of hope in vulnerable communities worldwide. Through hands-on agricultural training and climate-resilient food systems, we empower families to grow their own nourishment, strengthen local economies, and rebuild their futures from the ground up.
Our Global Gardens model works to:
Increase food security through regenerative, climate-smart agriculture.
- Train farmers and families in sustainable growing practices that restore soil health.
- Support economic recovery by helping communities grow, harvest, and market nutritious crops.
- Improve nutrition and well-being with diversified, locally grown foods.
- Build local leadership by empowering women, youth, and community groups.
- Promote stability and peace by restoring land and livelihoods in high-risk regions.
Together, these gardens become living classrooms—cultivating nourishment, dignity, and long-term resilience.
-

Thought Leadership
Peace grows from knowledge, collaboration, and shared leadership. Through partnerships with world-renowned universities—including UC Berkeley Kühn Institute for Post Conflict Development—we advance research and thought leadership in post-conflict development, regenerative agriculture, peacebuilding, and food security.
Our research and convening efforts work to:
- Advance interdisciplinary research on agriculture, demilitarization, and economic recovery in post-conflict and climate-affected regions.
- Strengthen global collaboration among universities, policymakers, NGOs, and farming communities.
- Develop innovative solutions that support food security and climate resilience.
- Cultivate emerging leaders through education, exchange, and applied research.
- Bridge research with real-world impact to support farmers and communities on the ground.
-

Regenerative Agriculture
Women are the heart of agriculture and the stewards of peace. Through interviews, podcasts, and public symposiums, we shine a light on the vital role women play in cultivating both the soil and the soul of our planet. By uplifting women’s voices and stories, we honor their impact and inspire others to follow their lead in nurturing peace from the ground up.
2026 marks the United Nations Year of the Woman Farmer. Our Women in Agriculture initiative works to:
- Highlight women’s leadership in regenerative agriculture, food security, and climate resilience.
- Amplify women’s stories through interviews, podcasts, and public dialogues.
- Champion women farmers as essential agents of peace, stability, and community regeneration.
- Promote global recognition for women who restore land and livelihoods in high-risk regions.
- Inspire the next generation by showcasing women-led innovation and agricultural wisdom.
Together, these efforts celebrate and elevate the women cultivating regeneration, resilience, and peace across our shared world.
We see a world where peace takes root.
