Global Gardens
Planting Peace to to nourish our soil and soul
About
Rooted in our deep commitment to cultivate peace through agriculture, we are taking active footsteps to inspire the planting of ‘Global Gardens’.
There are eight billion people in the world today, and there will be ten billion by 2050. As women, we bear the seeds of life and it is our moral responsibility to plant regenerative gardens to make the land fertile to feed future generation.
Join us, as these fruitful gardens emerge worldwide.
Global Garden in Guatemala helps farmer grow onions, support her family, and stay on her land
The first Global Garden in Guatemala, launched by the Heidi Kuhn Global Peace Foundation in collaboration with Roots of Peace, supports smallholder farmer Juanita Chiroy with the technical training and agricultural equipment needed to increase onion crop yields and income.
With improved farming tools, irrigation support, and crop management techniques, Juanita is now earning a higher and more stable income—allowing her to provide for her five children and build long-term economic security in her community.
While many farmers in Guatemala are forced to migrate to the United States due to lack of economic opportunity, Juanita can now remain on her ancestral land, strengthening local agriculture and creating a sustainable future for her family.
The Global Garden model demonstrates how agriculture-driven peacebuilding, farmer empowerment, and investment in local food systems can reduce forced migration and support families where they live.
We plant a white rose to plant hope.

May peace bloom worldwide.
